Every thatched roof is different. Before applying the techniques learned during this workshop to your own property, you should always have the roof inspected by a qualified professional. TækkeSelv cannot determine from the workshop alone whether an individual roof is suitable for overthatching or other work.

General workshop information
Our workshops are offered throughout the year, with the first workshops scheduled to start from September 2026. Workshop dates are planned based on participant registrations. Once the minimum number of participants has been reached, dates will be confirmed in consultation with the registered participants whenever possible. To ensure a high-quality learning experience, workshops are held in small groups with a minimum of six participants, allowing plenty of personal guidance and hands-on instruction. All workshops are conducted in English.The Roof Repairs Workshop can also be arranged as an individual training session on request. Please contact us to discuss availability and pricing. Workshop prices are based on the current cost of materials. As natural materials and supplier prices may change, workshop fees are subject to adjustment before the workshop takes place. If any price changes occur after your registration, we will inform you as soon as possible before requesting the remaining balance.To secure your place and allow us to purchase the necessary materials, a 50% deposit is required upon registration. The remaining balance must be paid 1 week before the start of the workshop.
